Hello Ultimea fam! 👋

Lately there’s been a lot of buzz around the new Skywave X70 vs X60, and many of us are wondering — which one really makes more sense for our setup?

Let’s break it down…

Ultimea’s X-series is heating up with two Atmos powerhouses: the Skywave X70 and the Skywave X60. On paper they look similar, but there are some real differences you’ll want to know before choosing.

🔊 Surround & Atmos

Both are full 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos systems, so you’re getting that “sound raining from above” effect either way.

X70 just feels a bit more cinematic, thanks to its extra punch in the up-firing setup.

X60 still gives you Atmos immersion, but it’s tuned a little simpler.

🎵 Bass & Power

X70: 10″ subwoofer, drops as low as 20Hz, 980W peak power → serious rumble for movies.

X60: 8″ subwoofer, 840W peak power → strong and clean, just not as bone-shaking.

⚙️ Processing & Amp Tech

Both run on NeuraCore™ DSP + GaN amplification → cleaner sound, less distortion, more efficiency.

No big difference here — they share the same brain.

🔌 Connectivity & Extras

X70: HDMI eARC, app control, 4K HDR passthrough, CineMesh wireless.

X60: HDMI eARC, app control, BT 5.4, CineMesh wireless.

Main difference? X70’s HDR passthrough → handy for gaming/streaming setups.

💰 Price & Value

X70: Premium pick (~$649 Early Birds -- US/ CA/AU/ MX ONLY) and ( ~€579 Super Early Birds -- EU Region only)

X60: Value-friendly (~$529 Early Birds -- US/ CA/AU/ MX ONLY) and ( ~€469 Super Early Birds -- EU Region only)

✅ Final Take

Choose X70 if you want maximum immersion + deeper bass + HDR passthrough.

Choose X60 if you want great Atmos at a slightly lower cost.

Both are absolute beasts — the only question is:

👉 Do you want “go all-out cinema” or “smart value cinema”?

Honestly, Ultimea is making it tough with the X series 😅. I see the X70 as perfect for those who want the closest thing to a home cinema, with those deeper bass and the HDR passthrough bonus. But the X60 looks like an amazing value option, since you still get full Atmos and the same amplification tech.

I think it really comes down to what you prioritize: do you prefer going all-in with maximum power and future-proofing for gaming/streaming, or do you want something more balanced in price but still super immersive?

Personally, I lean toward the X70 for the 10″ sub and HDR, but I totally get why many would go for the X60 as the smart choice 👌.

What about you, family? Are you more of a “full cinema” type or an “intelligent cinema” type?

The hardware platform seems very powerful, especially the NeuraCore DSP. Does this open up possibilities for future firmware updates? In particular, have you considered introducing an acoustic room calibration system (like Dirac/Audyssey), perhaps by leveraging the smartphone's microphone through the app? That would be a killer feature in this price range.

Totally agree with you! 😅 For me, I definitely lean towards the full cinema type experience — nothing beats sitting with the family, big bass rumbling, Atmos all around, and just feeling like you’re inside the movie 🎬🍿😁.

Your suggestion of implementing room calibration using a phone's microphone and an app is a fantastic "killer feature" idea. 😊

We've already included this feature in our mid- to long-term product software planning for evaluation, focusing on the following key areas:

Algorithm Integration: Develop or integrate an accurate and efficient calibration algorithm (such as a solution like Dirac or Audyssey) and ensure its stable operation on the NeuraCore™ platform.

User Experience: Design a user-friendly, clearly guided calibration process that even non-experts can easily complete.

Hardware Consistency: Ensure that the phone's microphone can capture sufficiently accurate data for calculations, although a professionally calibrated microphone remains the most accurate option.

Thank you again for your creative thinking. It's feedback like this that drives us to continuously push the boundaries of price and performance and create even better products.

Stay tuned, the future is exciting! 🚀
If you have other ideas, please feel free to discuss them.

I was considering between the X70 and the X50: either the top configuration or the cost-efficient choice. In the end, I decided to go with the X70!
“Great choice , Going for the X70 means you went for the best. Not only do you get more power and performance, but also a much more immersive experience compared to the X50. You’re definitely going to enjoy it to the fullest — it’s a top-notch setup for your home cinema sessions .”
