Connecting the Poseidon D80 to Alexa via Bluetooth.

Conectando el Poseidon D80 a Alexa vía Bluetooth.
Buenas tardes.

Hi, Welcome to the community, this is your home.

I currently own the Poseidon D80 Boom, and I also have the Echo Show 8 — I was able to connect them just to make this post for you.
Here are the possible solutions to connect your Poseidon D80 Boom to Alexa via Bluetooth (since it’s not as straightforward as with other speakers).

1. Make sure the Poseidon D80 is in Bluetooth mode

  • Turn on the Poseidon D80.
  • Press the Bluetooth button on the remote control or on the device panel until the indicator light starts flashing (pairing mode).
  • Make sure it’s not already paired with another device (like your TV or phone), because Alexa won’t detect it if there’s an active connection.

2. From the Alexa app

  1. Open the Alexa app on your phone.
  2. Go to Devices → Echo & Alexa → select your Echo device.
  3. Enter Bluetooth Settings → Pair a new device.
  4. Wait for “Poseidon D80” or a similar name to appear in the list.
  5. Tap it to connect.
💡 If Alexa says something like “unable to connect,” put the Poseidon back into pairing mode and try again.

3. If it’s not detected

  • Delete any previous connections from Alexa’s Bluetooth history and from the Poseidon D80.
  • Restart both devices.
  • Then repeat the steps from section 2.

4. Limitations to keep in mind

  • Alexa can only send audio via Bluetooth (not receive it).
This means Alexa acts as the sender, and the Poseidon as the speaker, not the other way around.
  • If you’re using an Echo Dot, make sure it’s not already connected to another external speaker.

5. A more stable alternative

If Alexa and the Poseidon are near your TV or a media player, it’s often better to connect them via AUX cable or through the TV if it’s already linked with Alexa (for example, using Fire TV).
This way, Alexa can control the sound indirectly without relying on Bluetooth.

I hope I can help you.
