Hello there, are you plan to add new firmware to S80? the latest one (V161) are ruin the subwoofer... When they talk in the movie, there is a continuous sizzling sound.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback!

At the moment, we don’t have plans for a new firmware update for the Nova S80. The issue you’re experiencing may be caused by wireless interference—common sources include nearby microwave ovens, routers, or other electronic devices that affect signal transmission.

We recommend placing the subwoofer closer to the main soundbar and ensuring there are minimal obstructions or interference between them. This may help reduce the sizzling noise during dialogue.

If the issue persists, please don’t hesitate to contact our customer support team, they respond quickly and will be happy to help you resolve the issue.

This is quite a big problem, it is well known that every firmware version of the S80 has some kind of bug. The latest version has a pretty big bug, that there is a disturbing noise coming from the subwoofer during conversations, which makes this firmware unusable. The phenomenon has nothing to do with the distance between the router and other devices. The S80 was apparently released by the manufacturer, or for some unknown reason, but all firmware is buggy for different reasons. Maybe the device itself was corrupted and you can't write good software for it...

Yes, it is a known issue, and affect every people that use these fw version.....

I would strongly discourage anyone from buying the S80. In fact i will never risk buying any Ultimea system again. It is the worst purchase I have made in a long time. I have tried all the FW updates with no joy. I have tried every setting, and repositioned the subwoofer in different locations. Every update has made the sound worse. There is a nasty rumble and clipping from the subwoofer during dialogue and quieter moments. It is unusable and a huge distraction. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I should have added another 50-100 Euros and got the Hisense 5.1.2 system. I have stopped using it and will indeed buy the Hisense system. I won't even try and sell the S80 as I would not want to bestow this POC on anyone else. It would be dishonest. You're welcome.

I think your comment is very dishonest and misleading. I believe you know full well that this product is a complete POC and your comment is a classic fob-off. You will be aware that moving the sub next to the main unit will entail trailing wires for the satellite around the room, which is far from ideal. Please read my other comment which has more info. I am very disappointed, and at every opportunity I will dissuade people from buying Ultimea sub-standard products. I only signed up this forum to make my point and will be deregistering now too.

Did not enjoy reading this thread since Ive just bought a Nova S80.

This item needs balance controls Front/back and Left/right and since there is obviously access to the BIOS via the usb port why they cannot develop and app and wifi connection for this product.

Im already feeling pangs of regret 😢

Thank you so much for sharing your feelings so candidly. We understand your frustration with the Nova S80 and appreciate your suggestions. 🎧

The channel balance control (front/back/left/right) and advanced settings via the app or Wi-Fi you mentioned are indeed what many users have been looking for. As a model focused on cost-effectiveness and easy setup, the Nova S80 does differ from some flagship models in terms of software ecosystem and deep adjustability.

Your request for more granular Wi-Fi control via the app is a very relevant suggestion. We have noted this and will provide feedback to the product team as a valuable reference for future software development and product iterations.

Happy exploration! 🙌
