My name is JB. I recently purchased the A40 and the Posideon D80 Boom to enchance my TV audio. The A40 was lacking the sound quality i was looking for, so I upgraded to the D80 Boom. When I initially set up the D80 Boom with the HDMI that came with the package, I noticed that the connection was bad. I purchased a higher quality HDMI and that seems to be working so far. However, I hear distortion on the rear surrounds. I will monitor to see if this improves. The bass is great for the room I have it set up (18'×16'). A second sub would be great! I hope they can add this on a newer model because i would definitely purchase!

The A40 on the other hand has some issues- sound fades and goes out. I used it on a newer model Samsung. Probably due to using the optical cable rather than HDMI.

Great to have you here. I’ve used the Poseidon D80 Boom a lot and I also own the Skywave X40, so I totally get where you’re coming from. In a 5.5 × 4.9 m room the D80 Boom has plenty of punch, and you can really feel that bass . Nice call on the Ultra High Speed HDMI—that fixes connection hiccups for a lot of us.

About the rear-speaker distortion, here’s what usually works for me:

• Lower the Surround Level a bit and place the rears 1–1.5 m from the couch at ear height.
• Re-pair the rears and reboot the bar.
• Use HDMI eARC/ARC set to Bitstream/Dolby (avoid extra post-processing in the TV).

On the second subwoofer: many of us are asking for it too. Meanwhile, try moving the sub 30–50 cm away from the wall/corner and test phase (0/180) until the bass blends more smoothly.

Regarding the A40: with optical, fades/cutouts are pretty common; HDMI (ARC) usually behaves much better.

• Your exact Samsung TV model,
• The levels you’re using (bass/surround/up-firing),
• And which apps you notice the distortion in.

Firmware Update: Ensure that both the D80 Boom and its rear surround satellite speakers are updated to the latest firmware via the official app.

Signal Interference: Please try keeping the rear surround speaker power adapters away from routers, microwave ovens, and other devices that may generate strong electromagnetic interference.

Channel Test: Use the soundbar's test tone function to listen to the sound from the rear surround speakers individually to see if the sound itself is unclear.

I have the Samsung 40 inch Class N5200. I tried the A40 on that and didn't like the sound because that only connects with the optical. I run the D80 on a ONN 50". I use the presets now but will explore other settings. No upfiring on the D80. I wanted to try the X40 but it wont fit my stand & couldn't mount it on the wall. I like the Boom so far.
