I have this same question and would love to turn off the sound of my B30 switching on and off!

Let me tell u guys what you can do: Check if your remote control has a "PROMPT TONE" button function. Then, press to adjust the "PROMPT TONE" level, and the display will show: "PT 0", "PT 1", "PT 2", and "PT 3". If you don't want the prompt sound, you can set the volume to "PT 0" to turn it off.

Last time I asked customer service about this, they told me!
