I'm considering upgrading my soundbar and I'm very interested in the new Ultimea Skywave series. I was wondering if the new Skywave soundbars are a significant improvement over the previous models, especially the Nova series. Are there any new features or technologies that make the Skywave preferable?
Any insights or comparisons would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I've been doing some research and this is what I found.

Skywave (F30 / F40) vs Nova (S70 / S80 / S90)
Channel configuration and hardware

• Skywave F30 (3.1.2): includes front speakers, up-firing drivers, and a 5.25″ wired subwoofer.
• Skywave F40 (5.1.2): adds rear speakers and SurroundX technology for a 360° experience.
• Nova S70 (3.1.2): entry-level model with Dolby Atmos and up-firing drivers.
• Nova S80 (5.1.2): includes an 8″ wireless subwoofer, rear speakers, and ASL (Aural Spatial Localization) technology for immersive sound.
• Nova S90 (7.1.4): advanced expansion with up to 7.1.4 channels and wireless height speakers.

Audio technology and connectivity

• Skywave: features BassMX for enhanced bass and Bluetooth 5.4 for better stability and lower latency.
• Nova: also uses BassMX but comes with Bluetooth 5.3; S80 supports 4K/Dolby Vision passthrough and ASL 360° sound technology.

Customization and control

• Skywave F40 stands out with app control, 10-band EQ, presets, surround level adjustment, and OTA updates.
• Skywave F30 also supports app-based customization.
• Nova: offers more physical input options; S80 lacks app control, while S90 provides limited options—users have reported mixed experiences

In my personal opinion, the Nova series offers more powerful 7.1.4 channels.

This is my opinion from the outside, I can only give a firm choice between the Poseidon D80 vs D80 Boom, which are the two models that I have actually been able to test personally.

Bro, the Nova S90 is already pretty solid in its range. It has 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos with wireless subwoofer and rear speakers, so the surround feels quite immersive. The power is strong too, so movies and music both sound punchy.

The Skywave X70, on the other hand, feels a bit more premium. It’s also 7.1.4 Atmos, but the tuning, bass depth, and clarity are more refined. Plus, with better eARC support, it handles lossless audio more smoothly.

To put it simply:

Nova S90 = great value for money, strong performance.

Skywave X70 = more cinematic and polished experience.


If budget is a factor, the S90 won’t disappoint. If you want that extra edge, the X70 is definitely an upgrade.

Thanks for the help, for my use Bluetooth is not so important nor the eARC, since my source (an Ultimea projector Apollo P60) is just ARC.
I therefore have to decide between the greater power of the Nova series or the 'modernity' of the Skywave series. In both cases my choice is for a 5.1.2 configuration, as I do not have room for a 7.1.2

The configuration of the speakers chassis themselves are the same amount for 5.1.2 & 7.1.4 It's the amount of drivers inside. That's half the reason I purchased my Poseidon's. They really are saving space compared to a traditional wired home theatre setup! Also the less wires and cabling I have to deal with the better. My cat like them though!

Pretty much. Comparison chart says (X70) 980 watts peak vs (X60) 840 watts. That different subwoofer in turn brings down that low end frequency to 20hz from 28hz
