Hello all,
I'm pretty new here. I purchased my first ultimea product a Poseidon D60 for my cottage at first because the sound of my TV was ugly ( it's a TV what could I expect). And how to say it simply, it amazing 😍 it was easy to setup. It was an instant improvement. I had a soundbar at home from another brand that cost more ... And the results was so embarrassing...
Sadly I can't take all potential of my soundbar due to the fact that my TV don't have eARC ...
I'll soon move to another place and I'll have to setup all again. As the package is super well done it was easy to pack all back when I left the cottage, sadly my Poseidon is waiting for me ... And I also miss it so hard. Probably my next move should be a bigger setup as I don't know exactly the size of the room.
But what first: change the TV or upgrade sound?

Hello! A warm welcome to the Ultimea family! 🎉

We completely understand your "sweet dilemma": on the one hand, you're delighted with the outstanding performance of your Poseidon D60; on the other hand, you're not quite able to fully enjoy it due to the lack of eARC on your TV. Now, you're facing the classic choice of "upgrading the TV first or the sound system first" after moving.

This is indeed a good question to consider! As your long-time partner, we hope to offer some perspectives:

Unleash your untapped potential: Your Poseidon D60 is a powerful "lion," and the eARC interface is the key to unlocking its full potential. Upgrading to a TV that supports eARC will allow you to experience lossless, high-quality audio tracks (such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio), truly unleashing the full potential of your D60. This simultaneous leap in picture and sound quality will deliver a truly immersive experience where 1+1>2.

Laying the Foundation for the Future: A modern TV (equipped with eARC, HDMI 2.1, etc.) is the foundation for all future audio-visual upgrades. Building this foundation first will ensure smooth operation whether you upgrade to a larger sound system or add a game console.

Meeting Unknown Spaces: As you mentioned, the dimensions of your new room are unknown. A new TV is a definite upgrade, while a sound system upgrade can be planned more precisely and personalized based on the actual acoustic conditions after you become familiar with the new environment.

At the same time, we would like to invite our community members to contribute their collective wisdom: We believe that countless "veterans" in our community who have gone through similar choices will enthusiastically share their personal experiences and lessons learned, which will undoubtedly provide you with invaluable references.

Thank you again for your insightful sharing! We look forward to continuing our exchanges with you in the community.🙌

Welcome to the family! 🙌
Great to read your post—first impressions like yours bring a lot of energy.

If you’re deciding between upgrading the TV or upgrading the sound, I’d go TV first. Clear, practical reasons:
  • True eARC: audio and metadata come through more stable with better lip-sync than ARC.
  • Simpler setup: plug all sources into the TV and one HDMI eARC to the bar; one remote (CEC).
  • Friction-free streaming: TV apps output Dolby Atmos (DD+) with fewer compatibility hiccups.
  • Future-proof: if you later move to a bar with real height channels, the TV is already ready.
  • Gaming bonus: with HDMI 2.1 you get VRR/ALLM/4K120 if you want it.
When you move and know the size of the new room, tell us and we’ll help you dial in the ideal setup. Welcome again—and enjoy! 🎬✨

If you decide to add height channels later, I recommend the X Series (X60/X70): real Atmos with up-firing drivers, a more immersive soundstage, and smoother eARC/CEC.

Great for medium/large rooms and for getting the most from Atmos-enabled apps.

A more capable subwoofer delivers bigger impact without sacrificing clarity.

🎬🍿🤗 enjoy

Welcome! I recommend upgrading to a TV with eARC first; the sound quality improvement will be immediate!
