HDR from Xbox not working using HDMI pass-through.

Just like the title says. HDR does not work when I use the pass-through on the skywave x60. Only works when I plug into another HDMI port on my TV.
Also while doing that, I do get HDR but the Dolby Atmos is not working correctly. You have to use Dolby digital.
Unless you use the pass-through. Only way to get true Dolby Atmos is through the pass-through.

Ultimea,
This is a pretty big deal and needs to be fixed. I shouldn't have to choose between HDR and Dolby Atmos.

Hi,

Your situation, where the HDMI pass-through function cannot simultaneously transmit HDR signals and Dolby Atmos, indicates an anomaly in the device's signal co-processing. This is typically related to the device's EDID information interaction or the firmware logic for HDMI protocol processing.

To help us resolve this issue as quickly as possible, we kindly ask you to provide the following key information:

Your Xbox model:

TV model and firmware version:

X60 current firmware version: (You can check this in the official app or the soundbar's settings menu)

HDMI cable specifications:

Once we receive this information, we will provide feedback to our product development team for analysis and testing.

In the meantime, you can try the following steps as a temporary fix:

Restart the device chain: Turn off and unplug the power cords of your Xbox, X60 soundbar, and TV. Wait one minute before reconnecting and powering them back on. This can sometimes reset the HDMI handshake protocol.

Check your Xbox audio settings: Ensure that the "Allow pass-through" option is enabled in your Xbox audio settings.

We understand that temporary solutions are not a substitute for a fundamental solution. Please be assured that we are treating this as a high-priority technical issue. We will promptly update you through this channel as soon as our R&D team has any progress or a solution.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you. 🙏

Sincerely,
The Ultimea Team

Appreciate the response. But this never happened on my Sony Bravia bar 6. And that is a 3-year-old product. Trust me, I want to like your product. It was a great deal for what it advertised.
Will try your suggestions. And post tomorrow on it their works

X60 is on firmware 8.
Xbox series X, CEC turned on, pass through turned on.
used your cable then tried an ultra high performance cable. No help
TV TCL 55R635,
CEC and pass-through enabled
software version 14.6

Can't edit my last post so, posting here. I was wrong about my sony bar 6. It Did not have a pass-through so this was not possible.

Hi,
thanks for sharing, we're here to help, try the following:

since you’ve got a TCL 55R635 (Roku TV, 6-Series 2020), here’s the easiest way to get HDR + Dolby Atmos at the same time with the Skywave X60:

Recommended setup (eARC)
  1. Xbox → TV (HDMI 1, 2, or 3)
  2. X60 → TV (HDMI 4 eARC)
  3. On the TV: Settings → Audio → eARC mode = Auto and Digital output format = Passthrough (if anything misbehaves, try “Auto”).
  4. On Xbox: 4K resolution, Allow HDR10, and in Audio → HDMI = Bitstream out + Dolby Atmos for home theater (you’ll need the Dolby Access app).

Result: HDR goes straight to the TV (the R635 supports HDR10/Dolby Vision) and Atmos travels over eARC to the X60 without losses.

Alternative (pass-through via the bar)
  • Xbox → HDMI IN on the X60 → HDMI OUT from the X60 → TV (use a port with enhanced HDMI).
  • On the TV, set that HDMI to enhanced mode (on Roku it’s usually HDMI mode: Auto/2.0).
  • On Xbox, enable HDR10 and, if you see compatibility issues, turn off Dolby Vision for games.
  • Use Ultra High Speed HDMI cables.
(The R635 is HDMI 2.0b: 4K60 HDR is fine; 4K120 is not.)
Quick tip if Atmos “disappears” in Roku OS
  • Toggle Digital output format between Passthrough and Auto, or reseat the HDMI cable—this often brings eARC back to life.
Make these adjustments and we'll discuss how it went.

🎬🍿🤗

Okay. This is very odd. But all of a sudden it is working when I got home and just turned it on and tried it. Not the pass through but using the TV CEC and e-arc.
Thanks

So that was fixed. Thank you. But, when I do the Dolby Atmos test I'm getting both rear speakers firing on the left rear test and the right rear test. I'm pretty sure you guys already know about this problem from another post in a different thread. Hopefully this gets figured out

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide such valuable feedback, and especially for confirming that the previously reported HDR and Dolby Atmos compatibility issues have been resolved. We're happy to hear that.

Regarding the channel mapping issue, our engineering team is actively analyzing the root cause and appreciates your understanding while we work to resolve it. 🙏

I'd like to add one more thing for my x60. When turning on it switching inputs it randomly sets the volume to three or four times what it is and it's extremely loud. So loud that it scares the heck out of you

There's a small chance that the subwoofer may produce a louder beep. A new version is currently in testing, and you can upgrade the firmware through the app later. We apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
