I ordered this just a few days ago, so I was quite surprised it turned up so fast. It was packages very well and everything was wrapped for protection. Putting it together was easy and the sub was already paired, so the whole process was very quick.
The sound is very nice and it works well along side my much larger external sub. With the App I could fine tweak with an equaliser but many of the functions on the remote control were not available on the app. It also pairs happily with the TV to allow adjustment of the volume from my Samsung remote. I'm happy with the sound thus far and it puts out far more volume than I will ever use.
That said, I have some observations and recommendations.
1. Why can't I adjust the individual speakers? you can only modify the rear speakers as a pair and the subwoofer, the other speakers are just as they come. I've had two Sony surround systems over the last twenty years as they last very well and they both had full adjustment on each speaker output to account for positioning.
2. The app needs work, there is not enough functionality. I'd rather use my phone than have another remote in the way in the living room.
3. The rear speaker cables are long enough to go around my house but my speakers are only 30cm from the sub, so it would be nice to have some shorter ones too. It would also be nice to have some attachments for alternative external speakers as I have plenty of existing speakers that I would like to have used.
4. The LED lighting is nice but doesn't really have any adjustment for level other than on any off.
5. I know it's quite a reasonable price for what you get but my previous sony systems have lasted nearly a decade each an if I went to a shop in the UK to buy a system, UK law would protect me for upto six years under the Consumer Rights Act. So to only give one year warranty and wanting to charge for any more is worrying; if it doesn't last five years, it isn't worth the money. Also the system I have isn't showing as available for extended warranty or even in the app as compatible despite it working. I guess they don't sell that many of these or they are too new?
That's it for now, I'm happy with the purchase and looking forward to enjoying it with the back lighting tonight. If you could add individual speaker adjustment function to the app, that would really improve my experience.
